Typically, In The Garden with UC Master Gardeners gives you practical guidance on what to do in your garden using scientifically sound and vetted advice. This week, we expand your vision just a bit with the first of a series we are calling “Gardens of the World”! The Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew in London, England is the focus this week.
World traveler and Master Gardener Kris Bonner sits down with KUCI host and fellow Master Gardener Bill Brooks to tell us about a place unlike anywhere here in the states. A place with two and a half centuries of history, culture, research, and botanical collections to see, experience, and learn from. They were the first to develop the lawnmower and the garden hose! Overall, Kew Gardens is an “Art museum based on Botany”.
Kris and Bill relate our Orange County gardening savvy to the visit by pointing out the bits of interest OC visitors might hone in on. For one, Kris says “plant diversity” was most impactful to him.
