Butterflies
This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, KUCI staff host and UCCE Master Gardener Katrina Kirkeby will talk with fellow Master Gardener Helen Wood about creating butterfly and wildlife-friendly gardens using native plants.

Butterfly gardens take key foundation plantings of specific host plants for any given butterfly species you hope to attract. Otherwise, there will be no food or “nursery” for the female and the next generation.

Wildlife gardens require five things – food, water, cover, a place to raise young, and an overall healthy habitat. Learn how to create your own no matter what size space you have. Also, we invite you to take some time to come see us at the 2022 Orange County Fair Master Gardener booth this summer and bring us your gardening questions.
