What is responsible for the existence of roughly three quarters of the food crops you eat? It's the honey bee. This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, Master Gardener and KUCI staff host Katrina Kirkeby and her guest, fellow MG Karine Pouliquen tell you all about the importance of bees.
Commercially, they are trucked to farmer's fields to help pollinate the crops. At home, find out what it takes to maintain a safe environment for native bees and, if you are adventurous, how to raise them in your own backyard apiary.
