Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary
If you've ever been up Modjeska Canyon in, oh say, the LAST 90 YEARS or so, you might have found a very special sanctuary.

This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, we go out into the field, literally, with one of our first remote broadcasts in 2018! KUCI Host and UC Master Gardener Dece Morgan visits the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary.

What used to be called a wild bird sanctuary run by the Audubon Society in the 50's and 60's, it has just recently been acquired by ENC (The Environmental Nature Center - a Newport Beach gem. Check the website encenter.org/tucker/ for opening plans.) and focuses on wildlife, native plants, as well as all the special bird species unique to the sage/chaparral/woodland/riparian environments of Orange County mountain areas. Dece's guest was Marcella Gilchrist, Site Manager at Tucker at the time of the interview. Learn about a true wonder in the wilds of Orange County.
