Youth Garden Workshop Series
Creating & Sustaining Your Youth Garden
 

 

A full day Saturday Workshop that covers all the steps toward creating, restoring or enhancing your Youth Garden program.  Topics include: planning and obtaining buy-off, key considerations in designing and building your garden, working with your volunteers, construction and initial planting, preparing your soil-beds and walkways, irrigation, critter proofing, resources for curriculum connections and grants/fundraising.  Hands on activities in the Youth Garden Training Center onsite.

UCCE Master Gardener's of OC presents: Youth Garden Workshops

Welcome! We are pleased that you are interested in learning how to create and sustain a Youth Garden. This workshop is designed to give the fundamentals of designing, creating, enhancing and maintaining educational gardens. Topics covered will include: garden design ideas, soil preparation, planting, watering, and pest management. Attendees will also learn how to build a support network and connect gardening activities to curriculum standards. Our UCCE Master Gardener volunteers have been specifically trained to help you succeed. We look forward to meeting you.
