    Common Name:  Licorice Mint/Sunset Hyssop/Hummingbird Mint

    Botanical Name: Agastache rupestris

    Description: Perennial with fragrant gray/green leaves; native to Southwest states and Mexico

    Sun:  Full sun to partial shade

    Water:  Moderate

    Soil:  Well drained soil

    Habit and Form:  1½ - 2 feet tall, 1½ feet wide

    Flower type:  Spikes of orange flowers with lavender calyxes

    Bloom season:  Blooms heavily from August through autumn

    Pruning time & method:  Cut almost to the ground at the beginning of spring to promote stronger and more vigorous growth; deadhead spent flowers in summer to extend blooming season

    Maintenance tips:  Propagate by dividing in spring or root semi-ripe cuttings in summer

    Common problems:  No significant problems

    Comments:  Outstanding garden performance; attracts hummingbirds
