What's New on the MG Site?

Exploring Beekeeping Classes

This three-hour course offers an introduction and brief overview of beekeeping.  It will cover:

  • City ordinances
  • Beehive location
  • Time and financial requirements
  • Honey plants, bee food needs
  • Races of honey bees
  • Pesticides
  • Obtaining, installing your new bees
  • Helping your honey bees stay healthy

If you are interested in keeping honey bees, but not yet sure how to start, this class is for you.  After taking this course, you will be able to make a well-informed decision about keeping bees in your backyard.

The same class is being offered on two dates:

Wed., Sept. 12, 6pm - 9 pm

Wed., Oct. 10th, 9 am - 12 pm
